Introducing Email Action in Company and Custom Object Workflows

We’re excited to announce a new feature that empowers small businesses to streamline their operations and communication like never before. Email Actions are now available in Company and Custom Object workflows, expanding the capabilities of automation beyond contact-based workflows.

What’s New

Previously, workflow email actions were limited to contact type workflows. Now, you can send automated emails directly from workflows built on:

• Company workflows
• Any custom object workflows

This update unlocks new possibilities for automation and communication, including:

• Automate emails from Company and Custom Object workflows without the need for additional logic or manual intervention.
• Reach associated contacts automatically, eliminating the need to build extra workflow logic.
• Support multiple custom business processes and use cases, making your workflows more versatile and powerful.

How It Works

Follow these simple steps to get started:

1. Enable in Labs: Navigate to Settings > Labs and enable “Email Action in Company & Custom Object Workflows”.
2. Open a workflow: Open a Company or Custom Object workflow.
3. Add an action: Click “Add Action” and search for “Send Email”.
4. Select association labels: Choose the association label(s) to identify the contacts who should receive the email.
5. Customize email settings: For Custom Object workflows, choose whether to send to the Earliest, Most recently associated contact, or All associated contacts. Add the email subject and content.
6. Save and publish: Save and publish your workflow to start sending emails automatically.

Note: Emails are sent using the domain configured for Bulk Email. You can select up to 10 association labels for a single email action. If a contact matches multiple selected association labels, they will receive only one email.
